Class B Misdemeanors

Class B Misdemeanors are the next step down and are punishable by up to six months of jail time and a potential fine of $1,000. An example of a Class B Misdemeanor is issuing a 3rd Degree Stalking. (Connecticut General Statute § § 53a-36, 53a-42.)

Class C Misdemeanors

Class C Misdemeanors are a step below Class B and can lead to a possible jail time of three months and a $500 fine. An example of a Class C        Misdemeanor is drinking while operating a motor vehicle. (Connecticut General Statute § § 53a-36, 53a-42.)

Class D Misdemeanors

Class D Misdemeanors are considered the least serious misdemeanor charges in Connecticut. These charges come with a potential sentence of    thirty days in jail and a fine of up to $250. (Connecticut General Statute § § 53a-36, 53a-42.)

Unclassified Misdemeanors

Certain crimes in Connecticut may come with an Unclassified Misdemeanor charge. If a crime is considered an unclassified misdemeanor than the punishment will be stated in the statute defining the crime. (Connecticut General Statute § § 53a-26, 53a-36.)
